Completed in 2000, Allegro was developed with an extremely competitive land basis. This economic advantage allowed for the pioneering development of three individual, stunning, urban buildings to appear in a growing loft/mixed use district. Several neighborhood activist groups challenged the project’s approvals. The perseverance of the development team allowed for the timely construction of these new units. Several units have 10-11 foot high ceilings. Dramatic estuary and Bay views are enjoyed by over 1/3 of the community’s residents. Allegro’s success was the impetus for the subsequent development of several new condominium developments and new businesses in the area. Prior to completion, Allegro was pre-sold to SSR Western Multifamily, LLC and BlackRock Realty for a then, record price in the entire East Bay area and an all time record price for the City of Oakland.
